Rider Profile – Billy Kennedy

FTBA would like to introduce its youngest Member Billy Kennedy

Billy is 8 years old and has been finding his feet (or fins) since 4 years, where he would practice with father William Kennedy’s help in the Bullring with board and fins to get his balance and grip on board.

Today, Billy is one of our most progressive riders in A Division – yesterday after school he raced down to Tunners and was charging some good 2+ft slabs with long bottom hand turns racing the peak, big cutty’s and peace sign while in the barrel.

This is what GRASS ROOTS is all about – if you have a child wanting to slide, don’t stop them, jump right in and help them out.

Photos: 4yrs in Bullring, 8yrs old at Lizzy’s scooping, 8yrs old in Lizzy’s Barrel, 8yrs old night sliding Burgo, Billy after his heat on Sunday at Tuncurry in 3-4ft perfect Tuncurry, coming in from his second heat in 3-4ft waves, smiles tell a million stories…. more stories to come!
